Tandem pilot update
If you currently hold a BHPA Dual Pilot endorsement you really need to pay attention to this.
From the beginning of 2022 you will need to hold a current 1st Aid Certificate in order to keep your dual pilot endorsement. Of course, in addition to this you also fly at least 10 dual flights and have 25 hours of flying over the past year.
Flight Culture are able to help you keep your dual endorsement and will be running a 1 week course at Dune du Pyla in SW France. We will run a 1st Aid course, help you get your hours up and generally tidy up your tandem flying. Once you’ve completed your 1st aid course, you will need to refresh it every 3 years.
We only run very small groups with 4 people maximum so it’s important to reserve your place as soon as possible. The first aid course will involve a significant amount of independent study backed up with practical sessions.
The 1st aid course will be a 16 hour course and will include:
- Standard elementary 1st aid elements
- Diagnosis and management of spinal injuries
- Incident management (inc remote locations)
- Casualty management (inc remote locations)
We use modern resuscitation mannequins and all materials will be provided for this course.
In addition, we will also do as much dual flying as possible and we’ll have some outstanding tandem pilots for you to fly with. You’ll get lots of tandem flying, learn new skills, as well as sharpening up existing skills.
We will be running this course from 4 – 11 June 2022
